to all that are getting upset by the name and what the movie is about you are being stupid and idiotic. its a movie and meant for entertainment and for a little scare. Nothing else, the world is not going to end in 2012 and if you are getting all worked up about that then you are even dumber than i thought. Nobody died in Y2K and no one is going to die in 2012 its a movie get over it!

Some people are slamming this movie because it has a bit of humor. But that's a good thing. Nobody wants chaos and destruction for two hours. There are moments when you want to relax the edge a bit. That is what horror films do. Shock for twenty minutes than give you a quick laugh. Only this is an action movie. But the formula works anyway. Another aspect of the film that works is the ability to show how awful some people would be to others if this were to occur and the kind decent people are also reflected. Great action and well worth the hype and the wait.

Since the Day After Tommorrow there has not been too many disaster movie blockbusters no increadibly good ones anyway. This film stars the now veteran actor John Cusack who has grown over the years from 1408 and a familiar cast as of late. I know movie goers are thinking another cgi film event with a crappy script but I must disagree in the past the Day After Tomorrow proved that a film with good cgi didnt need an incredibly awesome script because the cgi told alot of the story. In this film though you can see that it obtains a more sincere and plotted script filled with disaster periil drama terror I mean what more could a movie goer want? I would say people should go see it would I say it is the best movie of the fall-winter area.... no but it might be. I wouldnt want to risk the chance of missing another blockbuster to be. Probably not a film for little little kids it might keep them up all night with you for the next month. Other than that I recommend seeing this film.

The blu-ray DVD will look great on your home theater as ambient background for your next house party, but that's about it.. Definitely 2012 was just made for pure cheap entertainment, and never based on the 2012 mayan prophecies, that is all about the awakening of consciousness of human transformation and evolution. The movie message was,'there is NO spirituality or God in the world, we are just alone and only money will save us". The acting had a lack of credibility, while millions of people were dying, the only middle class family from California who survived, spent most of the their time trying to find a safe place to speak their inane dialogue and how Mommy's new boyfriend was squashed in the gears of a giant high-tech ark, so Daddy's back in the picture! What does it matter that billions die if that brings a family together in one big hug? . My fellows americans you better make a billion dollars by 2012 if you want to make it at the end of times. 2012 SUCKS!!

You get a bang for every buck you spend to see this film. There are multiple story lines so be careful not to get too distracted on all the wonderful spec effects. Cusack, Glover, and Harrelson were awesome. This film focuses on brains for survival where other disaster films have focused on brawn, most interesting. There are surprises, making this film unpredictable and edgy. If you are a fan of the disaster genre this film delivers earthquakes, volcanos, and sunamis all rolled in one! There are appropriately placed pockets of humor to make you laugh and touching scenes to make you cry. Movies rarely cause me to do either, but I did both watching this movie. This movie is not about theology although the film does depict a variety of religious icons. My concern is this movie may feed into the hype already being created in churches, media (like discovery channel), and survivalists groups about the coming of the end. I highly recommend this movie.
