Great remake!! I enjoyed it. The storyline is basically the same, but a bit more modern. I really enjoyed Julianne in this role. I think I prefer Kevin Bacon as Ren though. I was definitely laughing & bouncing throughout the movie. I recognized Comfort from SYTYCD as one of the dancers in the beginning! That was fun!! It's hard to compare though, because there are parts of the old one I liked more.. and parts of the new one I liked more!! But I definitely enjoyed this movie!!

Okay, I'll admit it! I didn't think I would see this movie in the theater because I didn't think it would charm or stand up to the original! I am a big fan of the 80's and Footloose was "that movie with that guy" that we all loved. It was different and so was it's star Kevin Bacon. Enough about the old, because the new was nice too! Even though I wanted to compare it to the original, it stood up on it's own and delivered. The cast was fresh and original. The movie definitely paid it's tribute to the original while taking some liberties to change and add just enough to give it legs of it's own. The final result is a fun, and frisky film that will make you laugh and tap your feet! You walk out of the theater reminiscing about the old while appreciating the new. It was fun and well done! You should check it out!!! Oh, and if you are younger than me and you probably are...you are in for a treat if you have never seen the original! Make sure you peep it too!!!

My 14 year old daughter saw it with her friends and said it was her favorite movie, "it made me happy and made me want to dance"! Best recommendation, my husband I will definitely go!

Very cliche, slow and predictable. I wasn't that crazy about it. If you don't mind cheesy romantic predictable movies than you might enjoy this one. If not don't spend the money and wait for the cd.

Some movies shouldn't be remade and "Footloose" is one of them. Kenny Wormald is no Kevin Bacon and Juliana Hough's lack of acting skills is evident. I wish I'd waited for the DVD or for it to appear on television some rainy afternoon. Not at all worth the money; I could/should have gone elsewhere to help my granddaughter celebrate her birthday. There was more adult content than in the original which didn't help the movie at all.
